Now the next chapter for me and my darling Meika. But before that I must say this. I've been hearing some things lately about some things about what she's been doing with others and the crap people are saying that it's canon. Let me make it very clear; it is not canon at all. My Meika is here with me right now and this story is canon. That other stuff isn't. No matter what happens the real Meika is with me.

Both of us right now are very cute side by side despite not being together yet. The key word is yet because it will happen but I won't say how or when as that's spoilers. But Meika is mine and will be. Nobody else will have her heart but me.

The Ranch

As it turned out the next day Nicholas got a call from Rachel and Daniel. The husky brought it up with the others. “So they wanted to know if we’d like to spend a little time during the late afternoon and even have dinner over at their home on the ranch they own,” the male stated. “But they understand if you guys don’t want to. But I think it’d be a nice thing to do even if the time for going out and doing what you guys want in the city will have to wait.”

“Going to their ranch?” Sonny asked with a grin. “I remember the food they brought when first meeting them. I wouldn’t mind at all.”

“I suppose seeing the rest of the city can wait,” Tamira said.

“Count me in!” Meika commented with a grin. The rest agreed as well.

Nicholas then let the horses know and during the weekend, he led the way with Meika in his Viper, and the rest following. This time Nicholas had on a cowboy hat with his vest, a t-shirt, and jeans. The vixen on the other hand didn’t have a vest but had borrowed an extra hat the husky had and stuck with her regular shoes, pants, and a t-shirt. The vixen remembered the male’s comment to her before they got in his car. “You really look like you work on a farm or ranch Meika,” Nicholas said.

“Aw thanks,” she replied. “You looks like you could be to.”

That made her happy to hear any compliment from him but the female wasn’t sure why. But the vixen wasn’t worried about that for now. So she talked to Nicholas as the vehicles drove to the outskirts of the city where it became less industry and more country like. But not too much as you could still see the main part of Aispir City. It was still a nice view of it. The cars took a road and were soon pulling up to the ranch the horses had. The group could see the small fields that at this time of the year had wheat in one and corn in the other but not ready for harvest as this was still the growing season. The main house was wooden and had the country feel to it. The areas for storing the crops was nearby and there was even a tractor to help with that parked near the fields. A few apple trees were growing here but they had no fruit at this time. Nicholas and those in the cars pulled up the gravel driveway near the house and got out. “Heh, it’s like what you see in a movie,” Tag said. “The guys arrive at the farm to help or visit.”

“Somehow you and Meika are fitting the role well,” Meelo said to the vixen and husky. “Must be the clothes.”

“What can I say?” Nicholas replied. “I guess me and Meika look good in anything.”

Just then the front door to the house opened up and out stepped Rachel and Daniel. He had on a larger cowboy hat due to his size but other than that, he and her were wearing clothes similar to what the others had last seen them in. “Howdy folks!” he called. “Glad y’all made it!”

“Thanks for inviting us out here,” the husky told them after bumping fists with the male horse.

“The pleasure is all ours,” Rachel said.

“It’s a really nice size one,” Meika commented. “I may be a city girl but even I can see how quiet and peaceful it is here. It’s a nice change of pace.”

“Thanks it’s why me and my guy Daniel live here. It’s like what we had to leave behind.”

“Well come on in,” her boyfriend said. The guy led the way into the home.

“Oh my…” Meika whispered and grinned. “This is just as beautiful as Nicholas’s home!”

The place was bright not just with the light that was let in but also the colors as well. The furniture and stone fire place added to the country feel as well. “Thanks, I made it for Rachel mostly,” Daniel replied.

“It’s got a nice homely feel,” Miles commented with a small smile on his beak.

“Well shall we show yew around?” Rachel suggested.

The two horses did that and then the group ended up at the kitchen and dining room where the food and drinks were ready. “Well then, I think we should get the fire ready,” Daniel said. “Who wants to help?”

Meika decided to stay with Rachel and talk with her while the rest followed her guy. Daniel showed the grill and fire pit and got some wood in position before starting the fire to get the wood ready as it would take a while. Luckily by the time it would be hot enough for cooking some of the food, it would be closer to dinner time anyways. Soon the fire was roaring and Meika and Rachel joined the rest. But she brought a guitar to play and Daniel a harmonica. “Aw yeah, gotta have those around a fire,” Nicholas stated with a grin. The vixen was sitting next to him one a bench.

“It’s very quiet out here,” she then said.

“it’s not bad,” Tamira commented.

“Well it’s not just the music, but also stories that can be told,” the husky told her. “Maybe you have one or something that can be told.”

“I’ll pass,” she grumbled.

“Suit yerself,” Daniel replied.

“Well what should we do in the meantime?” Sonny asked.

“Listen,” Rachel replied and began to strum her guitar with a simple song. While it had no words, it was pleasant to listen to. Then Daniel did a simple song on his harmonica to set the mood. Everyone listened; even Tamira.

“That was beautiful,” Meika said when both were finished.

“It really sets the mood,” Nicholas commented. “When out in a place like this with a fire, away from your life and technology, it fills you with a different feeling you can’t get anywhere else. Just close your eyes, listen, feel the air and smell it. There’s something about being next to a fire especially at night that can make a person feel at peace or alive.”

Meika was surprised that Nicholas would sound so wise. “Well spoken,” Daniel agreed.

“Well I can agree,” Meelo said. “Despite me being more tech, even I need a break like this from it.”

“It’s peaceful,” Tag stated. Even Tamira seemed to think that way due to her nod. The group continued to talk and then it was time to eat. The sun was beginning to set but it was a beautiful sight. They finished this time with desert and then it was time to head back to Nicholas’s place. It had been a wonderful time. But now the one for exploring Aispir City and doing what the group wanted had come.
