I really like the painterly style here actually, it kind of reminds me of street fighter 4's kind of unique art presentation style for their characters.
Anyways baxer-mx is open so I'd recommend giving him a try sometime.

It's weird, I started him out as misunderstood and should gradually learn how to respect other people's boundaries and right to be different, but found that boring and cliche'. After some thought, I think I went less with misunderstood than "malfunctioning" and "going off protocol"; even though he's still rather organic, there is a lot of overlap with rampant AI. I guess due to his pragmatic nature chaotic neutral wouldn't be too bad of a description; I can't really call him "evil" since he's not really in the business of pointless destruction. That's not to say the gloves can't come off; for one thing drones and robots are much easier for him to destroy and simply repurpose later than trying to use his corrupting paint/goo to convert them which is what I imagine a unit of "sthenobusters" would heavily push to the front lines.
Haha yeah maybe...I am kind of remembering that don chitole bit where Captain Planet went rogue and did indeed have a similar portrait in his treehouse. That is a very specific example as I imagine one possible origin for stheno being a similar series of epiphany and ethically questionable action.
