Actually, this is called the secretary bird. Some people think that this is actually the bird that was used to model for gryphons because eagles were... well... more vicious and harder to control. THIS IS NOT CONFIRMED so don't take my word for it. I think it looks like the front of a gryphon, anyways.

I thought so too. And watching it attack its prey later that day was interesting too. They attack with their feet by grabbing at it. They hunt snakes mostly. But yeah. He stood in front of my camera for a good five minutes just turning his head from side to side. "Make sure you get my good side... oh yeah..."
