Another shot down. The night was lively, and Cole had no intention of stopping the party any time soon. Usually so collected and in control of his desires, something about this new bar he was trying out seemed to coerce him deeper in to the thrill of losing his inhibitions tonight. He was still able to stand upright and string together a coherent sentence, but he felt so freed from his usual responsibilities. The Lunar Lure was beginning to grow on him quickly the more time he spent at the bar, everything from the subtle dim blue lighting making him feel so relaxed and at ease, to the low gentle tones of music humming through his head. There was no part of the bar’s atmosphere he didn’t fall in love with, and spend more than a few seconds appreciating with another sip of his colourful drink as he finished it off.
As if on cue, Matts the bartender strolled back over to him. Cole had gotten quite well acquainted with the strapping blue wolf and his charming demeanour over the course of the evening, and was happy to see him approach again. “Get you another?” the bartender asked, polishing a glass with a rag as he did. His smile was warm and inviting, Cole almost felt like he’d be hurt to decline the wolf’s offer. “Same again thanks.” He replied with a smile of his own, sliding the glass back across the counter a little unsteadily. The wolf gave a quiet chuckle as he eyed up the purple and white fox. “Enjoying yourself?” He took the Cole’s glass and began to unscrew the top of a bottle he had kept close to the fox for the evening, as he was clearly a fan. Cole simply nodded and said “What’s not to love about this place?”
Matts paused for a moment, his smile widening while his brow furrowed in thought. He’d grown fond of the fox, more than a few times through the evening Cole had won him over with his own charms, and it was rare Matts found someone to leave him speechless. “You know, if you like my bar so much, I might have a position for you to spend a lot more time here.” The wolf sliding over a drink as his proposal made Cole’s eyebrow rise in curiosity. The fox looked around him, spotting a few of the sharply, if underdressed bar staff walking around with drinks trays, their uniforms leaving little to the imagination, and in some cases nothing to the imagination if they were stripped down and bouncing in a patron’s lap. Cole was sceptical, being a waiter/escort didn’t exactly appeal.
Sensing his hesitation, Matts spoke up. “Tell you what, why don’t we talk about it in my office? You can have that drink on the house if you come.” Cole grinned, not one to turn down a free drink, or a chat up with a charming guy like Matts, he extended a hand to shake and Matts gladly returned the gesture. Motioning with his hand, Matts waved towards a door in the back corner of the bar “Step this way.” Following the wolf round the bar, Cole took his drink and made his way to the back corner of the bar. In just a moment Matts had the door unlocked and stepped through the entryway, holding the door back for Cole. “Have a seat, please.”
The office was comfortable, warm low lighting more akin to a normal room than the blue hue the bar was caked in. Cole missed it for a moment but quickly settled in to the gentle atmosphere, admiring the dark wood bookcases lining a wall and the thick oak desk in the centre of the room. He took a seat in the lush leather chair on the near side of the desk, setting his drink down on a coaster as Matts made his way round to what was clearly his seat, and cleared away a few papers before sitting down.
Resting both of his elbows on the desk and leaning in, he spoke in a low tone with his eyes focussed intently on Cole. “Now I know it seems sudden, and the staff roles here are a little more… risqué than you might be used to.” Cole let out a chuckle, clearly he wasn’t the only one who had these reservations. “But I promise you, all you really need to do is make sure the customers have a good time.” Matts continued. “And having spoken to you tonight, I think you’re very good with people.” Matts’ voice turned slightly coy towards the end.
Cole paused in thought for a moment, staring the wolf deeply in the eyes. The more he considered this offer the better it sounded, as he thought about the bar outside and how accustomed he’d grown to the atmosphere and the way it intoxicated each of his senses. He was floating back on that feeling for a moment, realising he was lost in thought, and snapping himself back to reality. “uhh.. sounds good.” Cole stammered, looking around rather shaken, wondering if the lights had turned down lower than he remembered. His gaze danced back to the bartender, those purple eyes seeming sharper and more prominent now.
The bright colour piercing him from across the desk caught his attention again, locking Cole’s attention back on Matts as the feeling of the intoxication returned to him once more. “I really think you’d enjoy it.” The wolf rumbled in a tone low enough to make Cole’s ears perk. “Whispering in to the ears of the customers, bringing them drink after drink until they’re happy to let you tell them what they want.” Something about that resonated with Cole, he was fond of telling people what they wanted, and was growing somewhat fond of hearing the wolf tell him what he wanted. Matts chuckled “Hell, by the end of the night I could be paying you to get your cock sucked by a customer who wants nothing else.”
Cole’s tail swished in interest, and subconsciously in joy at that idea; being paid to control, to charm, even if it meant following a few orders of his own in a uniform he’d admired more than once tonight. Not responding, Cole simply continued to stare over the desk in to those penetrating purple eyes, slumping back in to that comfortable leather chair as he let his bartender keep talking. “You can bask in the atmosphere of the bar night after night. I’ll even let you drink on the job if you earn that reward. I find my stiffs work better when they’re a little ahem, loose.”
The office around him had faded away as Cole focussed so intently on Matts’ eyes and words, his world only existed in this interview right now, feeling like he’d hit the jackpot being offered such a position. The wolf’s arms came to rest flat on the desk as he leaned in, “We’ll just get you looking the part, I know you’d wear it well. We can even get you out on a trial shift for the rest of the night if you agree now. What’d you say?” Matts extended his hand again, the only thing drawing Cole’s attention away from those eyes. Sitting up to lean over and shake his employer’s hand with a loyal “Yes Boss.”
Matts grinned and gave a firm shake. “That’s what I like to hear.” He stood and the fox snapped out of his daze as those eyes left his vision. Noticing as the lights in the room brightened while Matts turned a knob on his desk. Cole felt fine, great in fact. Still sensing that intoxication in his head from the drinks and the nightlife, though now more prominent but not so heavy. His boss’ words lingered in his head as he stood and was lead over to a wardrobe, watching Matts open it and finding it stocked with a number of black waistcoats, white sleeveless shirts and cuffs, purple ties and blue thongs. Matts turned to his newest employee and placed his hand on his shoulder. “Now what’s your chest size?”
About half an hour later the office door opened again, this time Cole stepped out of it first donned in his new uniform, hugging his form snugly but comfortably. Strutting out in a way that made Cole’s hips sway and his tail swing behind him leaving a lovely faint lavender scented trail, just as his Boss had instructed. Matts locked the door behind them and patted the fox on the rump as he whispered in to his ear, “Why don’t you go and introduce yourself to that shy looking cat boy over there? And remember, serve the customers, obey the boss.” Cole gave a short bow and he looked up at his employer, “Yes Boss.” As the new waiter set off swaggering towards a dugout of seats at the other end of the bar.
Approaching the customer with that same servile bow, the fox presented himself “Good evening, is there anything I can get you, perhaps some company?” Cole swished his tail behind him very purposefully, letting his scent waft towards the shy feline. There was barely a few stammered words and a couple of decent whiffs of the air before the cat boy woozily giggled his approval and made room for Cole to sit next to him. Wrapping his lavender scented tail around the feline’s waist, Cole looked him straight in the eyes and said coquettishly “I hope you’re having a wonderful time, just know I’ll provide whatever you need to make it so.”
The feline stopped shaking nervously as he took another few breaths of the fox’s scent, laying back against Cole’s tail as his eyes started to become heavy and lidded. “I dunno…ehehee, you’re the expert.” the intoxicated cat boy giggled as he succumbed to Cole’s natural charm. The waiter placing his hand on the feline’s head and gently guiding it in to that scented tail, he whispered to his patron. “Just relax, and I’ll give you a night you can remember. Or forget, if you’d like.” The cat offered no response other than a deep sigh followed by slumping in to Cole’s tail. A smirk played over the fox’s muzzle as he recognised his boss’s intuition, Cole really did have a natural talent for this, and something told the fox he’d have a very enjoyable career to follow.
