More Beastars fanart, this time starring Juno and Louis, I love the dynamic between them. This time it’s my favourite dance, the tango and the song in the time lapse is also the song I imagine them dancing to.
P.S.: The mayor should really do something about those roads conditions, those potholes aren’t safe!

Thanks for the fav.
The anime ain't available on my country as of yet, but I've been devouring the manga like there's no tomorrow, in 33 years reading comics from all places I've never been so in love with a story and its characters. It actually put me in "I MUST HAVE THIS!" mode (got the first three volumes and got the next two pre-ordered). I got netflix and they've been releasing a lot of anime here, so I got my hopes up.
I've seen the stop-motion intro tho and it's brilliant!

I'm in that "I MUST HAVE THIS!" mode with the TMNT IDW comics right now, been on a mission to collect the 10 350 page omnibus collections they have out so far. Some damn good writing and art has been going into that series in its almost 220 issue run so far, they're about to release the 100th main issue next month as well. I read Shredder in Hell, which leads into issue 100, last night and was literally like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9UrvwoRCz4 because it was so damn beautiful, not at all what I expected from a comic focusing on Shredder. I've got to give Mateus Santaluco a lot of credit for drawing and writing this and the Secret History of the Foot Clan for this series. I also can't recommend TMNT IDW enough it's a really good series.
I'll also check out Beastars as soon as I can because the little bit I've seen of the anime so far is fascinating.

TMNT now there’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time 😂
It’s amazing how long that franchise has survived and prospered without the backing of the big name comic publishers, glad IDW picked it up and it’s now publishing an high quality. And to think it all started as Daredevil fanart 😂
Can’t say about the anime since I haven’t seen it, but the manga is so good! Think of Zootopia but without the disneyfication, approaching subjects like sex both within a relationship and outside of it (even as a coping mechanism), interspecies marriage, carnivore and herbivore instincts, how eating meat is forbidden but because of that there’s a huge ilegal trade of herbivore meat that society turns a blind eye to and so on. The world building is fantastic.
That said it ain’t at all that gritty, there’s lots of comedy (and drama as well), the character development is fantastic, the romance is absolutely great and you can see them maturing and growing. Paru (the mangaka) is a master at creating and disarming tension, she drops bombshells when you least expect them and disarms it just as easily. She also shows the thoughts of the characters as they’re experiencing events and that insight is brilliant. You really can’t help but get invested into the characters and cheer for them, especially when they truly realize and come to terms with their feelings.
The action scenes are badass as well.
You know a manga/anime called Baki the Grappler? She’s the daughter of the guy that made that.

TMNT IDW is definitely worth the read, not so sure about everything else in the series though. I heard the 2012 show was good, but what I've seen of it is a bit too silly for my tastes, the IDW comic is very serious by comparison. There's a motion comic with voice acting up to issue 26, 44 issues in, on this channel if you want to check it out. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCg.....i7LIOAEg_rg7RA
It's a bit rough until you get to about issue 12, but when you get past that and into "The Secret History of the Foot Clan" series you'll be hooked. Everything from there to issue 50 is pretty top notch writing and art. There is a bit of a dip in quality after that point, the Casey and April series and the Street Phantoms arc, but it picks back up around the 70s and it is pretty insane up until issue 100 so far. The only problem is there is a lot to go through, 220 issues, and the canonical order isn't easy to follow. You will be pretty confused if you just read the main issues, and the side issues can be very important to the overall plot. They also usually have some of the better character development as well. The series is apparently drastically changing with issue 101 and beyond so I'll have to see if it still remains good past that point.
Oh and there are crossovers with the Ghostbusters, Batman, and Power rangers as well, some of which are canonical to the main plot. There was actually a movie based off the crossover with Batman that came out this year, and I've heard it's really good.
I definitely get the comparison of Beastars to Zootopia, from what I've seen, and I think I'll like the more mature take on the premise. I haven't heard of Baki the Grappler, but I'm sure it's good as well. I need to find time to read/watch the manga/anime. Christmas is coming up soon so things are going to be busy next month.

I asked a friend of mine if he has.. resources.. on that, he's a RL friend o'mine and my DnD mate (we have a pretty good dynamic together) and a comic book lover as well. We usually warn each other when there's new chapters of stories we like out and he might be able to point me in the right direction.
You sir have piqued my interest, plus I'm gonna be honest here, I've always wanted to know more about Alopex for.. plot reasons. Dem vixens, hmmm hmmm..

Honestly she's the reason I read the comic in the first place. I'm also pretty obsessed with her right now because I really liked what I read about her, so I've been drawing her a lot recently. Her villain microseries is really good, and can be read out of order since it's not too important to the main plot up to that point. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4B2.....KgM&t=194s Issue 66 is a great call back to this microseries, but definitely requires reading up to that point in the story. TMNT Universe 9 and 10 is a fun and trippy side story involving her and her best friend, got some major Spirited Away vibes from this one. It kind of requires reading up to issue 66, since they talk about the events leading up to that issue in this one, but it is pretty standalone for the most part.
My only issue is that she's pretty absent from the story past these issues until the City at War arc, the arc leading up to issue 100. At least she's participating in the big final battle in issue 100 which is cool.

Cheers thanks, and yeah, been reading comics from all over the world for 33 years now and never have I been so in love with a story and it's characters! Was also the first time that I got into "I MUST HAVE THIS!" mode. I got the first three volumes and got the next two pre-ordered and I'm caught up with the manga online. I really love how the characters and their relationships mature and how they're incredibly mature and insightful one moment and utter goofballs the next. Paru is also a master at bombshells, like she drops them when you least expect them
Bonus points for Pina who's a master at creating and disarming tension while giving 0 fucks
I'm getting addicted to doing dancing scenes, and I'm considering some more. Some ideas I have are Gosha and Legosi's grandma, Gouhin and Ai (the smileless tibetan fox he treats), Pina and perhaps the black goat girl he flirts with (and fumbles). I'd also like to draw Jack tho he doesn't have a pair as of yet, he's one of my favourites and the poor thing deserves some happiness of his own

Yeah I've been hopelessly and utterly in love with the manga like I haven't with any other comic (and I've been reading them for 33 years now). The anime ain't available in my country as of yet but I got my hopes up. Got the first 3 volumes, the next two pre-ordered (been getting the Viz publications) and I'm caught up with the manga online.

Thanks for the fav. Yeah it's like they're trying to reach the same goal Legoshi and Haru are trying to reach but coming from an opposite angle. I love how they try be all cool and mature but whenever they are together, they end up discombobulating one another. I love those two goofballs
Cheers, thanks for the favs, the watch and the kind words. Been tryin' to make some more fanart of them (even a crossover with Zootopia) since early february but nothin' has come up yet so I sorta put it in the back burner and decided to work on some original stuff trying to reset ye ol' brain. Recently I discovered an artist whose works I've fell in love with and been studying their stuff with a passion, which has given me great results already at the sketching level.
TLDR: Haven't uploaded in a while but I haven't been standing still. 😂
