Wow! Two updates in one day. This is because I was given important information today.
This map shows where some local groups in Florida are. If anything about it is out of date, please comment!
I want your help, to remove both dead/inactive groups, and to add new, active groups.
Also, check out my journals: there are many ways this profile can help you, if you let me know. This profile also re-posts local events, so, +watch us to be notified!
In this update, we have the removal of:
Jax_Furs https://twitter.com/jaxfurries
This is because I was told their Telegram group is an invite-only secret club, and their Twitter account (which is seldom updated) confirms this. Their FA page has not been updated in ages.
Only public groups go on this map, since this map is supposed to HELP all furries in Florida, and not HURT any furries.
I'd like to thank everyone and anyone who helps give me information. Thank you. I'd also like to thank everyone who helps create and run local groups and events.
If there's no group in your county, no matter where it is, YOU can make a group! :D
Also, in the next update, map version 15, I may remove some more dead-seeming groups. I'm also hoping to add some, if any new groups get made.
I don't have a Telegram account or Facebook account, so I cannot tell which of the Telegram and Facebook links on my profile are working are broken. If you have a Telegram account or Facebook account, I'd be VERY grateful if you could check, and tell me which are working and which are broken.

That's untrue. All the public groups I've talked with and dealt with have said they were able to handle trolls, spam, and bots without ever converting their groups to private groups.
Private groups hurt furries. Furriness is about openness, friendliness, and fun.
That's sad things are getting worse though.
You could always make a new/separate/different Jax group, and if it's public, I'll help announce events for you via journal. If it has a website or FA page, it'll go on the map too.
People might join both groups, or might switch from the current/old group to a new group.

One suggestion might be to simply increase the number of moderators in a Telegram group, so more are available to kick/ban trolls.
Another option is to switch to a more troll-resistant chat. Telegram makes it easy for trolls to troll. For example, in Telegram, when you block someone, it only blocks them from PMing you, it doesn't block them from sending messages you see in group chats.
There are many other chats out there in the world which makes it very easy for people to block/ignore/get-rid-of trolls, with or without chat mods.

I don't know what the exchange above was about but I have, in the past, tweeted at the Jax-Furs twitter so I could join up, but I never heard back, so I've more or less given up on it, lol. I wouldn't be able to run a new group on my own, though, and I don't exactly know of furs in the area to start a group. Lol.

You can totally make your own events though, and I will announce them for you, even if there's no associated group. (and come on, you'd definitely be able to run a group if you wanted to!)
