I didn't like the way my original model of Ludash was coming along after a good long hard look. After some practice sculpting and learning some super simple stuff, I decided to give a shot at Ludash again.
After a few hours, here this is. Haven't done retopology yet, haven't properly done his feet or hands, but the bulk of the work is here. Gotta say, I'm happy with it.

Thank you very much!
It's not as much talent as it is just time and practice. Blender did not come naturally to me, nor did 3DSMax where I started which made it even worse migrating to Blender@_@
I feel it really is just a case of having the time and patience to get past that initial hurdle of learning the program and committing the basics to memory before you start to stroll through everything.
As long as you have a couple hours free every so often, Blender which is free, some tutorials and guides on what you want to do which a whole lot of them are free, and a graphics card and processor made within the last seven years, you can do this as well.

Yeah, I know that feeling! I tried to go too deep to early intentionally and I really didn't get anywhere with it.
A lot of tutorials for things like character creation and what not all work on the assumption that you know how to use the program in a basic manner, so a lot of things go unexplained. You really do have to start with the bare basics. Learning the program, how to navigate, where all the things should be in general, etc, then move on to creating and manipulating basic shapes and objects, and so on. And even then it's something you should do over and over until it's committed to memory before moving on.
Since Blender 2.8 has released recently, BlenderGuru has been releasing a small series of new tutorials, starting with the basics. https://www.youtube.com/user/AndrewPPrice/videos
His most recent batch of videos, starting with the recent donut tutorial, will help you learn the interface, creating and manipulating objects. It's a great place to start.

This is a new donut tutorial :D
Don't worry about the corrupt saves and all. Part of being a creator is loss, but in practice, a loss is just a small step in learning :P
You'll do fine! Just take your time with it. I'll be around if you ever want more direct help or to talk about anything you're having troubles on. I'm still learning, too, so chances are it'll be something we can both learn better. :D
