Ever since I first joined the furry community back in 2009, one of the dreams I've always have had was getting a drawn reference sheet, but getting the chance to have one were very slim. After 2013, I started to experiment with a reference sheet utilizing SecondLife pictures as the medium, but after doing that for a few years, it started to burn me out. As of recently, I met an up and coming artist by the name  wyatttheriot and was really impressed with his drawing of a Sergal, as well as his other art pieces. One day after he finished another reference sheet commission, I went to him and asked what the possibility of getting one would be, and low and behold, after all the years of pursuing one, that pursuit finally came to and end as I was given the chance to have a ref sheet drawn! I'm extremely happy with how the end product turned out, and I highly recommend anyone who is wanting detailed art or the like to check  wyatttheriot's stuff out! Born on Rain Calendar 95 (In terms of the A.D. Calendar, the exact date would be May 20th, 1995), Shawny barely has any prior knowledge of the planet Tal (which is the main planet of focus in the Vilous universe and is the home of all Eltus species [Sergals, Nevreans, Agudners, Talyxians, etc.]) due to him being sent to a transport ship that was piloted by an Enoca crew (an alien race that is part of the Vilous universe) at a very young age (around four-five weeks old). The transport ship he was on was mainly carrying other Sergals that were not deemed safe to live on Tal, as well as supplies and other goods. As for the reason why he was on the ship, his two biological parents decided that it would be best for Shawny to live on another planet to avoid being ridiculed by other Northern Sergals who live in the Northern part of the planet due to the way he looks or possibly seriously injured/killed by the dangerous lifeforms that are also close by on Tal. What makes him a unique Northern Sergal is the fact that he has genetic mutations that changed how he physically looks, such as his fur color and eye colors. Normally the average Northern Sergal has cold tones, but Shawny has a vivid orange tone that is even very rarely seen on a Southern Sergal, not to mention his eye colors are a mixture of both an uncommon color and a color only gained from Rain Silves' lineage (these two colors are yellow and green, and are combined via a two-toned variation with yellow being on the inside and green on the outside). As for other physical traits, his tongue is chipped/split like most Northern Sergals for cultural reasons and has a two-toned color of deep purple and a flesh tone. He also has a black prominent canine-like lower lip, black claws, and his skin on his hands and feet (Sergals have padded hands and feet, but a mutation caused Shawny to have skin instead, as well as it being rather plush-like in nature) has a black-ish brown tone to it. Also, he does have a keel like any other Sergal, but his massive chest tuft completely covers it up.

As for Shawny's upbringing after being sent to Earth, he was sent to an adoption facility and was taken in by two human females, one acting as the mother and the other as a grandmother. They both raised him up in a small city in northern Illinois, where they taken good care of him and made sure that he felt comfortable in his new surroundings. While he was growing up, he experienced major difficulties speaking out at a young age, as his vocal chords were slightly underdeveloped, making talking and other vocalizations nearly impossible for him. However, this slowly became better after taking a few speech therapy classes. Being a Sergal, his vocal structure is almost similar to that of an avian's, and naturally has a soft, yet high-pitched tone. Due to the speech therapy he had, his voice has a slightly deeper tone, yet is still soft, although he can still achieve the same sounds that most Northern Sergals make if he desired to. One other thing to notice is that although his eyes face forwards, his eyesight is not the greatest, not to mention one eye is nearsighted and the other is farsighted, so he heavily relies on glasses to grasp a better perspective with the sights he sees. As for education, he has gone through a lot of challenges, starting from pre-kindergarten, all to way to high school, where he graduated in the top of his class in 2013. As of now, he is a college student at a local community college, and has had a burning passion for the medical field since the age of seven. His personality as a result of his upbringing made him a very calm, caring, collective, and very friendly individual. However he does get very shy and nervous at times around those who he does not know, and he does have certain fears that some humans face. Due to his shyness, he is not that great at holding conversations and can easily be found being silent the majority of times, unless he is with a group of friends that he knows very well.

As for clothing, Shawny usually wears loose clothing no matter what season it is, since any tight clothing can cause him to overheat. As for what he usually wears, loose shirts and shorts are his go-to during warmer temperatures, and for colder temperatures, he wears loose hoodies/hooded sweatshirts and sweatpants/loose jeans. Despite his time living on Earth, Shawny does not have any custom-made shoes and prefers to go barefoot, as he has better grip without the need for shoes.
