Here is a concept sketch of my frog character Lana. Even though she was one of the last characters I created conceptually, she’s one of the few that I actually sat down and attempted to draw. She’s a remnant of a canceled / in development comic that I planned on making.

Her background is that she was the last resident of an already sparkly populated swamp community. Most of the swamp had been bought by an evil corporation who planned on using the swamp as a dumping ground/secret laboratory after an accidental chemical got out of control spill a few years prior. Because she unknowingly lived in the epicenter of the spill, Lana was force to stay in the swamp and be the company’s lab rat. The chemicals spilled had mutagenic properties but most of the resident showed little to no signs of being exposed to the chemical.

Most of the other residents were given the option of having their property bought for a hefty sum of money. Lana on the other hand showed clear signs of being mutated and was forced to stay against her will. With the corporation now being the only authority in the swamp she had no choice but to stay, and she thought maybe the company could cure her new affliction. She was later rescued by a few others who had been mutated by the company. And while she has since then learned to control her mutation, the incident has taken a toll on her sanity.
