Ever since i first made my Charr model, i had been using just a random fur texture for the bump map used to make the character looks like it has fur. (Since my computer can’t handle particles for actual fur.) Fairly recently, i had figured out how to retile the texture to make it appear a higher resolution on the model, but it still wasnt all in the proper direction, and the texture clipped at the edge seams that are used to divide the model in to pieces, which make it easier to wrap textures around the mesh. Yesterday, i had finally created my own original fur bump map with the help of an image stencil, which really helped make things go faster. This means that my model no longer has any texture tiling issues, and appears to have more naturally grown fur. I know it’s not photorealistic fur, or much better than my older retiled texture frankly, on account of this one being the same resolution as my fur color texture, and not being tileable, but it’s the best i can do, and the most my computer can handle at the moment. I’ll play around a bit more with the nodes, and see if i can’t get higher resolution textures to behave well. If i can, i’d like to make an even higher resolution fur bump map soon, but this will do for now.
