Looks really amazing :) I love the lighting on both, the detail and scene buildup.
The right image, the fox character could use some darker tones because he's in the shadow of the fence, but i know, i constantly make that mistake too :( don't worry, it looks awesome nonetheless :)

As about her tone level - yes, you're right! I even tried to use darker tones for all characters but it seemed me slightly heavy. In this case only one character was in the bright light - Jack - and he took all attention on him. So I decided to 'turn on HDR' xD and drew characters brighter then if it was real photo of this scene. The light in this case should play main role. but I wanted him to play only the second stage role ^-^
