Meet Asura, my baby boy for the past few days!
He’s a 40 ft (12 m) long Naga who lives as a hermit in the woods. He’s venomous, feral, and a lot more anxious than he wants you to think.
🐍 Asura grew up in civilization with his family, which included his parents and many siblings, all of them also being nagas. One day as a young teenager, he made the choice of packing up his few things and living on his own in one of the nearby regional parks. Now around 25 years old, he appreciates the quiet and the isolation, venturing from his den only to find a meal, and occasionally a mate for the night. Eventually he meets Nyami, a catgirl who goes hiking in his woods, and he gets more involved with her than he ever expected.
🐍 Asura is of Indian descent and his snake attributes are based on Indian-native snakes including cobras, with sharp venomous fangs, a long forked tongue, slit irises (which are more a python thing than cobra but whatever), and his entire bottom half being, yknow, a snake’s. His human half is built with lean muscle, having lived on his own in the trees for over a decade. He cuts his own hair for convenience’s sake, to keep it out of his face. He also has the ability to hypnotize anyone who looks too deep into his eyes.
🐍 Asura is a very sensitive soul but prefers to hide behind an air of mystery and intimidation to protect himself in the wild. He rarely ever interacts with others, and because of that he’s extremely socially awkward. If he ever does meet someone and embarrass himself, he just decides to hypnotize them into forgetting he ever existed. Underneath his self-defense tactics, he secretly does like being around others and contributing to others’ well-being. Sometimes that means listening to you vent about your problems, other times it’s him catching a wild hog and dropping it at your feet when you say you’re hungry. He’s a little confused sometimes but he’s got the spirit.
🐍 Asura will appear in a web comic I’m working on! Currently I’m still in the process of writing a script, but I still thought it would be fun to share the characters I have so far! Hope you like him as much as I do 😭
