Finally got around to painting one of my characters Syria the white jackal. She is patrolling the sacred temples along with Ammit, trespassers and thieves beware.
This is the first digital painting I've ever done. Personally I much prefer traditional as it's therapeutic for me.

Syria is gorgeous Is she the same white jackal who has appeared in your work over the years? I remember an old print i have somewhere with an extremely elegant white jackal woman laying on her side. I never knew her name!
This looks great, and despite being a different, less familiar medium it still looks like your other work and your style is obvious :)
I definitely understand your preference for traditional though, i feel the same

I broke my dominate hand and still took the time to tell you that you are amazing lol talented does not even begin to express. I'm glad to see one of your personal characters!
So stunning! And for your first digital, in all the years ive watched you,...you did such an amazing job...I couldnt tell! ❤
I couldn't even tell it was digital by looking. Amazing job. It looks just like your traditional work.
It's really impressive how your traditional style carries over into the digital realm, preserving your characteristic lapidary crispness and that ever-so-slightly-hallucinatory clarity. I won't argue with you sticking to traditional media, but I certainly can't complain about the result here.
My word! It took me a good two years to fully get comfortable with digital work. The BEST thing about it? If I make a mistake, it's so much easier to 'undo' - but I'll agree that there's something magical about working with traditional media that digital just doesn't scratch the same itch.
I really like this one; it combines the spirit of Ancient Egypt fluidly with New Age style. You must know a thing or two about Egyptology yourself, since Ammit looks very much like the Devourer, a crocodilian monster that ate the hearts of those too wicked to enter the Afterlife!
Nice to see your work here again. This is fabulous (but your work always is).
I have always wondered if Ammit is a netjer with whom one could sit and converse, or a being to be avoided -- lest one's ankle be bitten.

I am glad to get to see your stunning art again, and it don't seam it matters if its digital or traditional art, you rock it ether way.
To be honest, this didn't even strike me as digital. I thought it was your usual medium! Talk about style translating beautifully no matter which medium is used.
I love it.
I love it.
hohmuhgahd! i love everything about this! you're the one who inspired my love of the egyptian mythos. Very well done!
Always a pleasure to see your latest work. Syria is a delightful beauty, and the clothing is incredible.
Ammit is a furred crocodile? An interesting addition, is this part of the mythology? I'm a bit weak on Egyptian mythology, surprisingly.

It's stunning how you managed to preserve your traditional art style in a digital painting. Before reading the info I actually thought it was traditionally painted. The fact that you stick to creating art using traditional techniques, is one reason why you remain my undisputed number one favorite artist. Even after ten years from first seeing art of yours, you never fail to amaze me. <3
