i have a customer getting a horse quadsuit, and he might MIGHT maybe let me go mytical with it. i would want it to still overall read as a horse but have some non-ntaural aspects, sort of like beetlecat's "taurg" toby which looks like a boar for the most part but as traits that are non existant in real live boars.
the horn is the most extreme mythical element, but is optional, i figured the horn would help fantasy fans identify
it as a kirin.
the dappled coat is also just an idea, i was thinking of making it white with black markings and hair like a bay horse would have with gray scales on the legs and gray dappled horse markings that are more black near the black markings and fade into solid white areas. with black and silver for the collar (which you see out of) and tail cuff (to balance the look of the collar)
part of this more mythical idea is to make the quadsuit itself work better, namely the placement of the long fur around the chest as short fur would need padding to look proper and that adds weight and heat.
i also feel quadsuits seem more real and alive when they are fantasy related because there is no living breathing animal it mimics so one does not loose the illusion while trying to compare it to the "real thing" and it also justifies any flaws in anatomy (since it has horns and such then it not a real horse and thus something like the joints being low in the front legs does not look so strange)
i feel the same way with aninmatronics, in the neverending story falcore the luck dragon seemed real and alive whereas gamork (evil wolf with glowing green eyes) seemed kind of fake but that is because i am comparing it to a real wolf.
so either the commission will be something like this, or a realistic normal gray roan pinto draft pony/horse (quadsuits tend to be more pony sized, lol)

As much as this might look cool... Is it what the customer wants? Cause just because it may look better as a mytical creature doesnt mean the customer wants it to look that way. Maybe the customer wants a realistic looking suit and isnt trying to compair the suit to other fursuit creators. I dont think i would want my suit changed if i was paying for it just because it would look more like beetlecat "taurg".
If i was paying for a suit i would want what i paid for is all im saying.

we are brain storming on the idea. he has not made up his mind yet.
i never force customers to do anything, it's their money and they get what they want (as long as its not anything "adults only") but when i have an idea i bring it up as some times they like it better than the original plan.
