Centennial Fanfare and March by Roger Nixon
This was performed and recorded on Dec. 13, 2009 in Saratoga, CA. Performed by the San Jose Wind Symphony (myself on timpani), this was the capper for our Chicago program. The weekend following, we flew to Chicago to perform this, among other works, at the MidWest Band and Orchestra Clinic, a very prestigious gig indeed. It was such a cool place!
Sadly, the composer, Roger Nixon, died just two weeks before this performance. So this performance was dedicated by our conductor, Dr. Ed Harris (a student of Nixon) at the concert.
