pam, a metal bowl upside down and some insane freakishly hot melted sugar of which I only managed to burn myself once or twice. ^_^ just as a hint, never drop the spoon that you are using to ladel said hot sugar out of a pot onto your arm.... it stings juuuuuust a tad. Thank goodness I only had that newb moment once my entire time at culinary school. yay
