A catacomb saint! I love them! Such a weird and fascinating part of history, grotesque but at the same time full of artistic masterpieces.

There's a good book on them, if you're interested: "Heavenly Bodies: Cult Treasures & Spectacular Saints from the Catacombs", by Paul Koudounaris. It tells the whole story of these "saints", and has wonderful photos too! Definitely interesting!

I love the way this looks, a bit less extreme than the actual ones. I can't help imagining some kind of D&D style monster looking like this.
