Doin this for a class! Add something new to an existing property so I can stretch creativity within set guidelines. Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 are my favorite games ever, so this was my natural response. Just thinking about what they might look like as kids and how they would act.
Turians would obviously be the type that plays with little spaceships and Makos and wants to be an astronaut when he grows up! Krogans would 'wrestle' young varren that would be their allies later in life and to build up their fighting skills. Salarians would be creative and intelligent, so scribbling and drawing is their natural tendency as children.
I'm also thinking about doing some female versions of some of the species, and then maybe something ridiculous like a family portrait. All in all, I think alien children, at least the way I drew them, look basically adorable. Probably gonna be doing several more of these.

Having recently beat Mass Effect 1, I can safely say this is like the cutest thing, EVER. Just way too adorable, and I love how you softened the features of the various species to add to their young look. The little krogan kid playing with the varren is like the best thing ever, and funnily enough a turian kid bouncing around a Mako for fun would exhibit the same sort of physics the Mako had in the actual game! XD
Thanks! Yeah, I'm workin on a whole bunch of new Mass Effect drawings of genders and age groups of aliens that we never see in the game, they're turing out pretty awesome! I'll get some more uploaded when they are more complete. And yes, it seems that everybody just really loves the Krogan kid and the varren XD
I rather like the turian too, I think you did a really cute and convincing job of making him seem juvenile, with the softer facial features and the proportionately shorter spines on his head. The krogan kid just wins the cute gold medal is all XD
Really looking forward to seeing your other Mass Effect stuff, I only recently beat ME1 and naturally became totally addicted to the series, about to start up ME2. Bioware put a ton of effort into developing their various alien races and their biology and culture and history, but oddly enough stopped short of bothering to include detailed pictures or references of them without clothes/armor on, or even showing what the females looked like. But I suppose that just gives artists like yourself some personal leeway to use your creative license to draw them as you see fit.
Though I'm not sure how a hanar female might work... or do they even have genders? :P
