art I am doing for my Cassowary dragon and my friend's dragon who I designed based on his favorite bird, The Shoebill. It is drawn in ms paint with a wireless mouse . Took me a day to get it done and one of my larger scale drawings ive done like this. Really enjoyed drawing it.
The Cassowary dragons often live by water and trees with a main diet of Fish but are not opposed to hunting down other prey ranging from small rodents , deer, wild hogs or even having a more vegetarian diet. They can eat berries from bushes , aquatic plants and even some bark from trees. The Cassowary dragon can fly, and swim quickly and when on two feet can spring like ostriches for a short duration. They are not considered on the large scale by dragons standards and more of a small or medium category. They can stand up to 6ft while on all fours or on two feet can reach up to 10 to 12 feet with their horns. The Cassowary dragons are very colorful on their heads, wings , and tail with often having orange, grey or yellow hues on their lower legs and feet. The head usually sports a vivid blue but can be yellows, reds and bright oranges with breath taking eyes to match. They can weigh between 350 and 800lbs for the larger ones and have a rather chunky build. They can let out a long almost haunting call that many describe to be similar to whales when trying to locate one another and able to make chilling roars when trying to use self defense. These dragons have a keen sense of smell, eyesight, hearing and touch on their feet enabling them to hunt with ease. These dragons lay beautiful teal, purple, or blue eggs that vary depending on the breeding pair. Because of their beautiful colors and meat that is often considered a delicacy their numbers have plummeted but thanks to being able to breed quickly and those who breed them as pets their numbers are sure not to vanish any time soon. These dragons can be used as mounts and tamed with a bond that is strong leading to life long companions. These dragons live for a long time if proper care and habitat is available and though they are on the smaller side it is best to keep them out of cities or large villages to prevent problems.
