Forget Prince Lir! King Haggard is teh sex.
Hooray! More creepy old men and beautiful young women! But seriously, Haggard is a sexy bitch. And I guess since Amalthea is -technically- a unicorn, that makes this anthro art... right...?
I think it's safe to say that I am 100% obsessed with this movie, by the way. It's second only to Labyrinth on my list of favorite movies, and David Bowie is what swings the tie.
What's with the stupid pockets on Amalthea's dress, anyway? I always hated that. In the movie Prince Lir says, "I know where there's some fine satin. You could make a dress." Apparently unicorns have no sense of fashion, yet can still sew dresses.
And while I'm on the subject, what's with the part where Schmendrick gets captured by bandits and Captain Cully says, "Have a taco!" Seriously, WTF?

Yeah, when Captain Cully brings Schmendrick to sit by the fire, he says "have a taco". I shit you not. Even in the book that's what he says, even though the previous scene one of the bandits makes a point to mention the disgusting "rat soup" Molly Grue has made for them to eat.
They never showed who actually made the dress in the movie, but Lir said "YOU can make a dress" to Amalthea... I forgot if Molly sewed the dress in the book, or if it was ever even mentioned. Rewatching it to hear the "have a taco" part is a valid reason. Cully even says that in the book, but it makes no sense.
Oh I know the Taco part is definite, no questions there. Lir did say that to Amalthea, too, but later during In The Sea, Schmendrick turns into many colored balls and, when the cat scampers off, we see Molly in the kitchen sewing the dress...or was she cooking. <<; I haven't broken out the VHS in a year. MUST.
