My mind was brimming with the potential for this story, but seeing that ending kinda makes me think it's going to be mostly on the fantasy side. I recommend you give your audience another sort of hook for your story, although most would read for the transformation stuff alone.
Everything was easy enough to read, no problems on that end. Formatting is rather clean as well.
What sort of plans you have for this story down the line?
Also, I reckon I would be rather miffed about being in that entire scenario, ain't no one gonna bite me and get away with it!
