Sonic and Tails had just finished dealing with Eggman's newest machine. A hovering machine that dropped little capsules containing miniature Eggman robots and a few self destructing Amy robots all designed to destroy them. They had thought the mech would be harder to defeat since they had just recently been shrunk while exploring the Zone but it would seem Eggman accounted for that, making sure the robot duplicates were also tiny just like the hedgehog and fox.
Not questioning things and simply wanted to move on to the next Zone, Sonic and Tails didn't think as they ran towards the glowing laser field they knew would make them regular sized again... only it didn't.
Instead after a brief flash of blue light the two woke up in the dark. They could just barely make out their own hands infront of their faces but they could tell by their surroundings that they were in a cage!
They both tried to escape by slamming into the bars but this thing was built tough. After a few moments of futile effort the lights flickered on, blinding them both for a brief moment. After their eyes adjusted to the bright lights they saw a pair of gigantic gloved hands reaching down and picking up the cage. They unlocked the door and a hand reached in a grabbed Tails by the tails.
"Sonic! Help!" screamed the terrified young boy as he reached out to his best friend.
Unfortunately the hedgehog couldn't keep hold against the sheer might of the giant hands and the two were forcibly separated, the small blue hedgehog quickly locked back in his cage as the diminutive fox was pulled slowly away from him.
That was when Sonic saw who was tormenting them. A young child, bearing a striking resemblance to Eggman. With big poofy brown hair and a gold, gem encrusted tiara.
"Ooh you're so cute and small" she squealed as she began hugging the small fox to her face. "You're my new favorite dolly" she gave the tiny fox a kiss on the cheek as she pulled out a pink ribbon from her pocket and affixed it to his head. Tails tried his best to resist but the sheer difference in size and power made it nigh impossible to even put up a slight struggle. He tried to pull the ribbon off his head but it was glued on tight to his fur and it gave him an electric shock if he pulled on it too hard.
"Now now Eggette, what have I told you about playing in my office?" asked the familiar voice of Eggman, Sonic turning like a shot to see the mad doctor enter the room.
"I'm sorry Doctor I just couldn't wait, look how cute my new fox is!" exclaimed Eggette as she held the still struggling Tails up to the doctor, beaming with pride and smiling from ear to ear.
"It's very cute little one, now run along and go play somewhere else. I've got work to do" said Eggman as he walked to his desk, patting the young girl on the head.
"Okay Doctor Eggman! Come on Milly, I've got lots of dresses for you to try on" and with a joyful skip, Eggette took Tails out of the room, the exhausted fox screaming for help again. Sonic pounded furiously on the bars of his cage as Eggman sat behind him and grasped the cage with one hand, spinning it around and making the unbalanced hedgehog fall flat on his side.
"Give it a rest rodent, you're staying put here until Eggette gets bored of the fox. Until then stay still and be a good paper weight"
Sonic wondered if he would ever escape. Every attempt over the last 9 months was always met with failure. Though on the day Eggette came back to him, Sonic began wishing he could go back to the cage. Not only had Tails become completely loyal to the evil girl but now went by the name Milly and kept trying to convince Sonic to stop fighting it and just let go.
7 more months went by and Sonic cursed himself for it, but he was beginning to see no point in fighting anymore.
