The two living vehicles soon found their way into the forest. As they had predicted, the gritters had not bothered to clear up any of the snow on the paths, and this made their journey very difficult. It was no help either that the snow had begun to fall faster and heavier than before. BaBo-Cha trudged his way through the thick, deep snow, his engine beating hard as he did his best to conquer the path. Athoris, on the other hand, was finding the journey a little easier, but not by much. She slowly followed behind BaBo-Cha as he cleared the way, which allowed her to follow in his tyre tracks. However, the snow was slowing building up, and she found herself skidding at times.
“Well, I’ll be honest, you’re not doing that bad of a job,” Athoris called. “Shame you won’t make it to the end!”
“Ah, ha! You watch me, girl! I’ll have this challenge of yours completed in no time!” BaBo-Cha replied as he crawled his tyres through the snow. “By the way, how are you doing?
“Thanks to you, I’m doing just fine!” Athoris said. “You’re creating me this wonderful, smooth path, and I must thank you for making it so easy!”
BaBo-Cha then realised what she was implying, and came straight to a stop. Athoris stopped too, quite puzzled at why he had done so.
“So, you’ve given up then?” She said. Then she laughed. “Heh, I knew you were bluffing.”
“Come and do the route next to me,” BaBo-Cha said, tapping his front right tyre where he wanted her to go. “Now you can actually do some work!”
Athoris looked at where he wanted her and sighed deeply. Now, she would have to tackle the snow. With a gulp of her engine, she entered the thick snow and trudged up next to BaBo-Cha.
