This is a drawing I did of the title character from 'Captain Kidd's Cat,' by Robert Lawson, author of 'Ben and Me.'
Like 'Ben and Me' the book tells the story of a real person from the point-of-view of his animal friend, in this case, the famous pirate's feline companion MacDermott, or Mack for short.
It's a good book, even if it's a little sad, and not so PC by today's standards. Still, Mack is a great character, and who doesn't love a pirate cat?
