[ID: A digital drawing depicting Diamantofelis ferox, in simple lineart and block colours. The base colour is a dull tan, with a cream underside, and warm mid-tone. The cat is spotted in simple large flecks, which are dark brown but grow less distinct on the back and sides of the torso. The eyes are pale green-teal. As far as I could find the only fossil that belongs to this species is a segment of lower mantible… so not much can be worked out admittedly. But I made many educated guesses after reading way too many papers to find little bits of info. Always fun. Anyway. This kitty was about the size of a small cougar, and was unlikely to have sabre-teeth. The jawbone is deep and short, indicating (to me) that this kitty was ripped af. So I based the build off of a jaguar. The primal pattern is considered to be flecked, so I went with that, but reduced the contrast on the back and sides. I also made it fluffy.
So I will be doing extinct kitties! And I made a quiz to see what the next one shall be.
