Aah, a visual representation of the old non-euclidean weirdness.
That does look pretty fun, actually. Kind of like long jumping around a small planet in Mario Galaxy except huge.
Aaaaand I see that moon-looking thing with the symbol of the Temple of the Path on there. Maybe there'll be a "That's no moon." later.

"Multiple mass-extention events" implies Alfred or his counterparts for each age had to fight the white death-void. And I assume each such battle came with a loss of landmass (because black creates and white consumes/destroys) along with the mass-extinction event. Its reasonable to assume that both sides want the cycle to end once and for all, but only in their favor and not their opponent's.
But I'm speculating here. ^^;

It's interesting to think about how the other extinction events went.
Afterall, the White Void wasn't simply eating the planet, it was flirting with Alfred too. Come to think about it, that artifact that nearly got Fenfen to kill Vix followed a surprisingly similar pattern with Fenfen. First it flirted, then it tried to eat her.

Baelin (or rather the Vitrin "White Void" entity that took his body and mind as an avatar) is probably aware of events in the mortal realm and what Alfred was doing. Baelin was a mathematician and a theoretical physicist just like Alfred. So I can see where it might use Baelin's knowledge to create theoretical models of what their opponent might do (in other words: use math and science to predict potential futures) and plan counters.
This is a cycle that's been repeated at least nine times over the course of nearly one million years. No wonder Alfred's so very tired.

What if that's why he set up Fen to have such powerful magic?
It could be that he wants to change the cycle and have her fight the Vitrin core instead.
She'd behave very differently, and in addition to that she has other people helping her now which could be pretty powerful too...
Lots of good speculation possible <3

He's already hinted that he wants Fen to "tag in" on the fight. Though he did say she doesn't owe the world anything, he also said that if she cared about anyone in her life, she should hop into the fight for them.
Fen's reaction was, I believe, thus: "The world can suck my d*ck, but I'll do anything to avoid hurting Vix again. Let's get this over with."

I would imagine with it repeating with varying ways each fight between them would have ended, it's possible that remnants of things that they both used might have survived along with them and the other cores for the magic of this world.
Traps. Weapons. Caches of information. Heck, maybe even certain bloodlines of this world might be leftovers of enhanced soldiers that fought in previous Seeds.
And not all of these things would be safe. It occurs to me that Stephen hawking had a theory that black-holes would periodically would shed of mass in outburst of radiation from time to time. I would imagine the Black-hole core doesn't just suck things up, it can possibly use matter it eats to make new things. There could be a few nasty surprises left from previous extinction events from both Alfred and Baelin.

Ah, so the Path system now has a religion built around it. Not to mention that moon shares the symbol and we know the moons are the sources of the magic types of this world. I wonder what the Coil relates to?
Huh, Vix has what looks like a Chessier smile on her robes.
So instead of falling off the edge of the world, you just sort of get pulled down towards the side? That must be quite a feeling as you transition from horizontal to a vertical plane like that.

Hello, yes, I would like an entire Farelliar documentary with Vixy. About literally everything in the setting. All of it. I just want this precious bean to give her take on her whole world.
And it's cool to finally see some of this stuff shown in detail. That bridge is sketch as hell, though. I'll walk around, thanks. ;P
