Traditionally I draw my flight school a gift for Christmas (they even printed christmas calendars of it with chocolate for all students 😄).

Very nice! Love being a licensed pilot!

I don’t know how it is in Europe, but in the states, we cut the shirt tail off after the first solo flight. I felt so nervous on my first solo and will never forget it!

You can do a lot of first things in aviation! First glider flight, first cross country, first twin engine - but there is only one "First solo" hehe.

They did that to me too! I wasn't aware of that custom and when I solo'd and I went back in the FBO they cut my shirt tail off and hung it on the wall with my name written on it.

Between glider pilots it is common to get a bouquet of "flowers", consisting of some flowers "spiced up" with thorny things to remind you that the freedom of flight comes at the price of discipline while enjoying it.

Your a flight instuctor? How awesome! Now I'm assuming those horn stick out the roof of the plane or did Santa just "magic" him into a human for his flight?

In the thumbnail alone I was able to identify that as a C152 just from my years of flying them. They're a great little plane!

Man, my first solo flight with glider was wild, thankfully I didn't killed anyone. I wonder what the deers do as christenings - We get tossed into swimming pool after first solo😄
