I make a choice to stylise pasterns. The style is a mix of cartoon and realistic. I think it’s a little rude to say “go take a look at references”
I’ve been drawing horses for long enough and I am happy to make you question if pasterns ever existed ;) I am sure I’ll have more realistic drawings in the future to fit your taste

Didn't intend to be rude. You are right, I am kind of bias indeed. Just wanted to give a friendly advice because I thought realism is what you are going for. Seems I was wrong. But oh boy, I wish to see any teacher's or art director's face if I would ever told them that "looking at references" is rude XD Gave me a little chuckle, thank you for that. Anyway, feel free to hide my comment if it makes you uncorfontable, I didn't mean to harm you ;)
Horses with human eyes and eyebrows are totally realistic ;D
It's not a constructive criticism to just tell someone look at pictures ;) I don't think the way you constructed your opinion was particularly polite, that's all ^-^
And luckily I am both qualified as an art director and an art teacher, and my face was not as amused :D
No harm done and no hard feelings at all!

The way you style your horses reminds me a little bit of Katie Upton (very different execution, but kind of the same feeling). Most artists try to present horses as living sculptures and noble archetypes. But anybody who has spent any time around horses knows they are mostly big goofballs with a very blunt and direct sense of humor. Personally I like the liberties you take with their body proportions. It creates a fun sense of personality and mood.
I just looked up their art and I am in love! Such a vibrant adorable style!
Thank you very much, really appreciated! I think it's a lot of fun to depict horses in a variety of ways, especially when it's someone's pet, and they give you an insight into their personality. It's pure joy to capture!
And I am happy you view my style in this way <3 I really like the liberty with the stylization, helps bring more gesture in expression to the poses and characters!
