I wanted to do a valentines day painting, then the SoFurry VDay contest came up, and I work well with certain limitations and restrictions.
So the idea was someone saving someone's heart from a burning house, bit of a metaphor. It was a sweet idea. It's going to be counter to the super depressing comic that I'm working on.

A VERY cool idea, IMO! ;D
You executed it well; the spoke explosion appears soft (which is good for the underlying theme), but the glass shrapnel adds a bit of ferocity to it. ^^
Though, the flame-heart is the most vivid and essential aspect of this piece; you mixed all the elements of a burning house quite nicely, Lyk! =3

Heeeee, I'm one of those old-fashion, romantic poets--who enjoy the classical formats with meter and rhyme! :3
I believe I have muse, and that it's Nature herself; I just get too much inspiration from her grandiose form! ^^
