Attached to the sides of their head (just below the apple-helmet), those floppy flaps hang down by default, serving as ears. They're green on the outer side.
When on alert or on lookout, an Appletun will lift these flaps all the way up. The underside of the flaps are yellow, and this is where their eyes are. So, they lift their eyes right up to look at stuff!
