His left front leg is missing. He lost it during the war. So he replaces it with his fiery magic that can form into a fiery paw that is fully functional. By the way, he can turn his entire body into a fire, so he is immune to his fire. And about his fire leg... he can turn it into a black fire that does not burn or harm others.
