Alright, I'm only a few chapters into Paul Gallico's "The Abandoned" and it's ripping my little kitty soul in half.

At this point in chapter three, a little boy in late-forties London who's been turned into a cat... he's been starved, beaten, chased, fought, and is at death's door when a stray named Jennie drags him into a scenery warehouse so he can recover. And there's something so touching about the whole thing, it breaks my heart, even...

Again, it's dark. This book is really really sad in so many ways. I love it. It's not for everyone. I love it but I often can't bear to read it.
