On with the new. I've decided to try something different now. This "Slouch Cap" or "Newsboy" as they called the style in the store, is a little better fitting for my personality these days. Besides, it's part of the Costume I'll be wearing as I work at the Griffith Park & Southern Miniature Railway over the Christmas Holidays. Hey... I could be a Brakeman, couldn't I ?

Oh that is such a great thing to read. I recall a movie called "Young Sherlock Holmes" where the fledgling detective observed, "We are made up from the best of all those we meet". Or something like that. So as the traditional hat style of your Grandfather's cap lives on, so does he.
There was tihs computer "Slideshow" thing on the MSN startup page earlier this year about "Things one shouldn't wear over 40", and Baseball caps were on that list. I just couldn't give up on my custom embroidered STEAMFOX cap. I wore it through many adventures, it promoted my comics, it got me into a few scuffles, and it was so much a part of me. It was one heck of a baseball cap.
Thanks. Yeah. I think the next time I'm on one of my walks through Old Town Pasadena, I'll visit the Goorin Bros. Hat Shop in Pasadena. The new cap I have now is just a "Cheapie" and I suspect it won't last through many adventures. Besides, it's part of my "Costume" I wear while working on the Holiday train ride.
Originally, I wanted to grow a big, fluffy set of Zachary Taylor or Martin Van Buren muttonchops to suggest a Vulpine appearance, but my favorite barber trimmed it up so nicely, that I liked the smiles folks gave me instead of the "Ewww... Homeless Weirdo" looks I got before I trimmed and tamed the 'Do. I kinda like the "Late 1940s industrial worker" look now.
