In mid-November, I somewhere suddenly remembered that it has been 20 years since I drew that first picture of Wolfeye. So I decided that I had to celebrate this milestone and do that long-shelved idea of redrawing Wolfeye. And this is the result: General Wolfeye Migatua leading KH Military forces in an urban battlefield.
Since 2013 I have really gotten the hang of tablet drawing. Now I was able to draw Wolfeye with far better proportions and detail than I ever could imagine. It also gave me the opportunity to draw some of the old KH Military weapons. Back in 1999 I had created an "armory" of weapon pictures for my Road Rover fan website, and looking back some of those designs looked ridiculous, either in design or in the wide variety of rainbow colours (the KH Military arsenal came in yellows, greens, blues, reds and other crazy colours).
In the end I settled on using the TOW Launcher (the RPG-type weapon that is Wolfeye's weapon of choice), a KH Military Walker (on the right, which was based off an advert for an old 1990s computer game) and the Mohigan Helicopter (top left, which was pretty much a rip-off copy of the Mohican Choppers from EA's Urban Strike). In fact, many of the weapons and vehicles were influenced by games I played during my school days.
As for the art itself, the background was fun to play around in, especially the smoke effects, the debris in the foreground, etc. But I still feel there is room for improvement, particularly better shading, getting highlights right and someone get the colour palette correct. Still doesn't feel okay somehow, but maybe I'm too critical of myself.
Anyway, here's a celebration to a 20-year milestone of artwork from me, and hoping there will be many more years to come. I'll try to remember to do another redraw of Wolfeye sometime too. XD

WOW!
Breath taking!
Such improvement.
From plain character in an empty background to this epic scene!
What a development!
I really like the 2003 version as well. So meta!
Overall this looks great, as you always do, sir.
This guy looks awesome! Super bad ass.
And the background is just awesome!
Well done!
