My cosplay of the character Rathalos from the video game series "Monster Hunter". I made this over the span of a few months and was my most complicated costume I've done to date. The wings were extendable with a baton, the tail had a full support band cause it was so big, and a lot of the markings had to be hand-sewn.
This was worn at Anime North 2019's masquerade competition in the artisan division where I won workmanship for fleece facbrication and best in division for stage.

The only thing I would say on the costume side specifically is just make the costume your own, with your own flare. Don't copy and make it look like a duplicate to what I have, that's the only thing that would cause any sort of disrespect. That goes for every cosplay or costume though, so it goes without saying lol
