Wow. Alright. I'm going to pretend this is DevArt and it has CRITIQUE REQUESTED on it. Don't worry- I'm constructive. c:
Originality- +5, since the last good naiad portrait I've seen was back in something something BC in Greece.
Colouring: +4.5 I love the use of monochrome on this, it adds a slightly ethereal feel, as if it really was looking at you deciding what you were and whether to save your life or drown you. The problem would be that those little spots- freckles? Anyways, they kinda distract, in my view. Of course, it may be my ADHD- who knows.
I honestly can't tell if you used a brush- I'm pretty sure you Smudged the hair, but... anyways. But then again, that's the whole point- brushes help you with things you can't do yet. And you've gone past needing a brush, in my opinion.
Anyways, excellent piece of work, keep at it!

I used brushed for the initial blocking in and base textures, but everything after that was done without brushes - each strand of hair was laid down by hand.. or tablet pen, whatever o0 Smudging tool was used on the skin and on the eyes and lips a bit, but then, a lot of detail was added over the top, built up and up... Took forever, but I'm damn pleased with the result ^^
