As for hanging them, you can use double sided tape and mount them to a mat. I like to float hang them by taping or gluing a block of 1/4 inch ply to the back and attaching some wire or string to the ply. When you hang them they stand out nicely from the wall.

I can see a lot of photographers making similar notes when this was state of the art and people wore black clothing for some occasions...
Also reminds me of the early Les Paul guitars, they made them an off yellow to show up as "white" in the old B&W TV rigs of the day... I also wanna say that is why they shied away from black as it turned into a black blob on TV as well...
