I believe the ideal well phrased here. However, without more information as to the setting, I do believe it to be a rather biased perspective. It comes with representation, yes (Saphira, Draco, Ruth of Pern, etc.), but there are many examples to the contrary (Smaug, the Middgard Serpent, Fafnir, etc.). I don't bring this point up for criticism (not that criticism is inherently unbeneficial), rather to sate my own curiosity. What inspire this poem, and do you intend to do anything with its setting from here on?
Well, the context here is this poem isn't about dragons in general but the dragons within my world of Edenya. Furthermore, it is biased because it is referring specifically to the Isle Dragons who have a reputation of being noble and honorable. Lastly, I wrote this poem from the perspective of the Isle Dragons as both a word of welcoming and warning to others. Hopefully that helps clear some things up. As for what inspired me? I wanted to write a poem that painted my dragons as beautiful and majestic but also dangerous and not to be taken lightly or thought as pushovers. The Isle Dragons are gentle giants but they're not afraid to, and will, fight if need be and they are quite skilled in combat.
