Between getting Evan's colors right and switching to SAI2, there has been some challenges here. I decided to keep the background pretty simple. One thought was the anime action background, and while I think I could have got it a little better, I like generally how it came out.

"Okay, I got the cape, the cane, and a bag with some goodies to eat on the way," a lanky tabby cat mused to himself while looking over everything in the living room. Raj was particular about making sure everything was ready for the trip, since returning to the apartment would take too much his time on the showfloor. The WuvCon was a couple days long, but the dark-furred kitty wanted to make sure he and his group of friends got to see everything while they could. There were signatures to get, posters to purchase, and panels to attend. To make matters more interesting, word on the blogs was that a new anime was going to be announced, and it was one of his favorite mangas - Ruby Stars Re:Volve!

He could feel the excitement rolling up his back, making the tabby shiver in his suit. It was a deep purple suit with a red handkerchief and similar-colored trim. His eyes were hidden by a mask across his face, showing a dark, mysterious being before all. A large Z was marked on his cape with two slashes from top to bottom. His cane, equally purple and definitely-not-colored-duct-tape gently tapped on the floor. Yes, Lord Zyen was ready for the big show!

But there was something missing.

"Evan, are you almost ready? The crew are going to be wondering where we are if we don't get there at opening hours!" Raj called out, looking at the clock with a bit of concern. A few minutes late would be fine, but each passing moment was now eating into valuable convention delights.

From the other end of the apartment, the sound of grunting and scrambling could be heard. This was not entirely out of the ordinary for Evan, a tigress who was much less graceful when a deadline was ever present. The sounds stopped for a second before the tigress called back.

"J-just a second! Stupid...buttons..."
"You...you're trying on the costume, aren't you?" Raj started to walk slowly toward her bedroom, when she called out.
"Yeah! Of course! I worked hard on this cosplay and I'm not going to let it go to waste!"
"I know, Evan. I just, well, you weren't exactly expecting to be...expecting when you made it a few months ago."

That was true. The tigress was deep into Heartbreak Princess, and within weeks designed a costume that would really knock 'em dead! Previous years her costumes were limited, but for once, her drive got her to complete a full magical girl outfit that she was proud of. But, two weeks later, her pregnancy tests came back positive, and her suit got progressively smaller on her ever since. She feared her snuggle cat Raj would abandon her and their growing family, but he seemed willing to make it work. So far, so good. The two kept together, dates were as relaxing and silly as always, and while they would not admit it, the after parties of their anime binges seemed particularly wonderful as of late. The only trouble was when their interests were hindered by the growing reality of parenthood.

"I let it out a little a few weeks ago...mff...my sisters said that would be the b-best option. C'mon friggen thing.."
"You know you have a few outfits you can wear instead...if it helps, I..." Raj looked at his cane, "...maybe I can choose to wear something else instead."
"No no! I...I want us to match, and I want to be Princess Beat!" she mewled and let out a victorious sigh. "Got it!"

Not wanting to wait much longer, Raj opened the bedroom door. Posters of her beloved franchises lined the walls, and pink and red furniture marked parts of the room. There was a history with this room, and her parents almost certainly had more than a couple discussions about it. At the moment, though, Raj was focused entirely on the tigress standing at the foot of the bed. A white blouse clung to her body, which was normal for the playful Princess, but said Princess was also not sporting a pair of breasts a few cup sizes larger nor a belly carrying a steadily growing litter. A playful pink bow adorned the top of her chest, and an equally-pink skirt ran around her widened hips. She was filling into the Zerih maternal role, that was certain, but she also wanted to fit into that princess role, too!

Raj gently tapped his cane on the floor, and Evan turned to him, pointing her custom-made Heartbeat Wand toward the concerned kitty.

"S-see? My outfit still fits! I'm good to go! F-for now..."

Evan tugged at the end of her dress, in a vain effort to get more coverage of her middle, only to tighten the grip of the dress against her chest. Her playful wand glimmered in her hand, and her tailtip flipped silently back and forth behind her.

Raj looked over her and swallowed hard. This was not a battle he wanted to fight, even though they were rivals in the show...

"Okay...but I think we should bring a pair of clothes, just in case...in case we BOTH want to change out."

Princess Beat with a bit of a belly gave a soft smile.

"That sounds good. Now, let's get going! Just wait when they see our cosplay!"

Raj nodded. There was definitely going to be a reaction to watch!
