Here is one of two steel hydraulic lines that needed some repairs. The pitting is from rust caused by dirt being packed around the tubes for years. Because of the nature of the rust welding the thin wall tubing was slow and tedious. Thankfully I didn't burn through the tube making a bigger mess than was already there.

Replacing the tube wasn't an option? Between budget and rarity, perhaps not.

I'm sure Cat has the part or would made it to order... but what would be the cost and how long of a wait for it?

Thank you this was one of five repairs that were done on the two tubes the others were where the tubeing was worn down from chafing in clamps. One clamp had split the wall and crushed inti the tube.
