Same Snake Different Tank
Me and a Friend decided that since class was cancelled today and we had nothing to do to go and see a tank he told me about. So we get in his car and drive.... And drive... And drive, before coming to it. The tank in the picture is a Chrysler Defense Engineering, Detroit Arsenal Tank Planet, Tank, Combat, Full Tracked: 105-mm Gun, M60A3. Now I'm not completely sure if its an A3 because of the fact that I'm not as well able to tell the differences as well between the A1 and A3 but I say so because of the mounting of the crosswind sensor on the left hand side of the loaders hatch. Now overall for a tank thats been sitting out the elements for god knows how long I say it's in OK condition and deffenetly not as welded over as the M103A2 near my house. However after climbing over her and trying to find a way inside (I'm a curious MoFo and want to be in a tank what can I say) I did find an opening, however it was the slide over hole for the Driver's Infrared Periscope and when I took pictures of the inside I got PISSED! The inside (although farley intact) is ABSOLUTELY DEGRADED, the air inside is just filled with dust, paint chips, and rust and the white interior paint is closer to orange than anything. Now I'm a firm believer in keeping military equipment in at least dignified looking condition and should make sure they can be shown off with pride. Like even a quick once over with a vacuum cleaner would heavily improve it.
