Designed and pushed into Polish military and police service starting in the 60s, the P-64 would serve faithfully throughout the majority of the Cold War era and it still is in service with some police forces today. The P-64 is a pretty smoll pistol considering that it uses 9mm Makarov as its caliber of choice, it's not that much smaller than the Makarov in terms of height, but in width it's actually visibly slimmer in comparison to the Makarov, making the pistol a very good back up or pocket pistol in the US civilian market. One major issue with the idea of using it for carry conceal though is the fact that it has one of the most heaviest double action trigger pulls in firearms history, making firing the pistol in double action quite a Herculean feat, however this issue can be fixed with replacement springs from a company known as "Wolff." Not only can Wolff springs fix the double action pull, but the company also makes recoil springs as well, giving the pistol a softer recoil when fired.
Not only did I upgrade this pistol with those, I also found a Extended Magazine Release for it, sharper eyed P-64 pistol users likely already noticed this. This extender makes the heel release easier to manipulate, though i'm not the most titanic fan of its price tag even with a Christmas discount. (It was around 47USD compared to its normally 55USD.)
This pistol used a 6 round magazine and those who use the pistol say it's typically accurate for its size and reliable.
This is my first firearm made and designed by Polish people for the Polish army and military by a Polish firearms company all in one so i'm very proud to have it. = O

I got one of these as well, and yes, the initial springs you needed to be an orangutan to squeeze the trigger in DA mode. It was rated at 26 pounds at that rate, if you had the hammer back, dropped it to 18 pounds.
I put in the Wolff spring kit into mine, dropped it to 9 lbs DA, 5 Lbs SA.
Though I made a huge mistake with mine over the past summer, wearing it in a inside waistband nylon holster. My body sweat went through the nylon and I didn't check it for 2 weeks. Got minor surface rust pitting on the left side. Had to have the slide Cerekoated in a steel blue with a double layer of clear coat to prevent it again. Though theres still a slight visible band about a half inch wide of slight pitting that the cerekoat couldn't fill in.
I still carry this on 'light days' as a CCW with Hornaday loads. 9MM Makarov is a nice 'bitey' round.

Ouch, sorry to hear about that man. I'll keep that in mind when I get something to put mine in, I considered using it as a boot or ankle pistol in the event I got pinned or something and couldn't realistically reach my Glock.
I need to check out Hornaday ammunition for this pistol. Might be better than what I got for it by a landslide.

If you are going to ankle or boot gun a pistol, the S&W Bodyguard in .380. Its small, lightweight and goes bang. Plus in a Uncle Mikes #4 pocket holster, nobody knows you have it, doesn't print in pants or shorts. Averages around $325.
The Sig P365 is another decent pocket rocket, roughly the same size as Bodyguard, a bit wider and longer, but with 11 rounds of 9mm over 7 .380.

Niiiiiiiice though now I wouldn't really know where to put the P64 now though I guess it's more than slim enough to put into my waist. xD
I'l be sure to check out these options at the store though along with all the other suggestions you gave, thanks! ^^
