This is an Air-arc it uses a carbon electrode and compressed air blowing over the arc to remove metal. Yes it is rather loud when in use. This one's not overly so because we don't have high amperage welder to power it so it's a little more on the tame side. But it still removes metal 50 times faster than a grinder.

Sorry the photo is not really very clear... but you can see what it is and thats the point of posting it. Yes you can cut a car in half with this thing faster than a tourch.
