Ashura: Pawn
Sick to my stomach with anxiety, I find myself waking up sometime in the middle of the night. I try to remain motionless so that I can lull myself back to sleep, but it doesn’t seem to work. I feel like I could sleep more soundly if I could see Abaddon. I open my eye and see his knees directly to my left. He isn’t even sleeping, he’s standing above me!
“I thought I told you to go to sleep,” he mumbled just loud enough for me to hear.
“I’m sorry, but this watching me sleep thing just isn’t working,” I protest, “I need some privacy if I’m going to go to sleep.”
Abaddon kneels and gets eye-level with me. “You woke up without me doing anything, so this will be fine. This is for your own good, now go back to sleep.”
I don’t know how much more I can take of this guy. To think he’s doing this “for my own good”... There’s no use talking to him, so I’ll just have to fake being asleep for the time being.

Seemingly an eternity passed by as I wallowed in anxiousness before I feel a firm grip on my shoulder rock me unforgivingly back and forth. “Wake up,” I hear Abaddon command. I jolt up and face him.
“It seems you’re well-rested.” He throws an apple to my feet. “Eat this while we walk. We’re going to fight more opponents soon.”
As someone who didn’t actually sleep well, I can’t help but object, though I doubt it’s going to go well. “Can we take a break first? The sun hasn’t even completely risen…”
Abaddon stomps his foot into the ground. “You disappoint me. I thought I told you to never talk back to me.” He shoves me forward, though I am somehow able to stay on my feet. “We are going west, and you are going to conquer your opponents. Do I make myself clear?”
“Please stop-”
“Do I make myself clear?”
There is no way that I can win this fight with him. “...Yes, Abaddon.” I start marching forward, shaking.
Thankfully, before I can take too many steps farther, I hear a familiar voice behind me. “Wait,” I hear it say, “Somebody is going to get their wish granted very soon!”
Abaddon turns around. “Argh,” he growls, “It’s that frog I can’t kill! What do you want? can’t you see we’re busy?” Thankfully, Abaddon didn’t know that Zephyr could only become unkillable once or twice.
Zephyr hops over to us. “I had a vision of the future, and somebody is going to make a wish with essence soon! I don’t know who or how, but it’s in all of our best interests to stop that person!”
Abaddon huffs. “If that’s true, then that is a problem. Ashura, conquer it!”
“I…” There’s no way around it, but at least Zephyr is here. “...Okay.”
