Uh. What's your take on how he dealt with the bunny? Do you approve? Was that a bit mean? What would you have done if you had been in the dragon's situation?

Well from what I can make of it, from what you get to see of the bunnny. He looks like the type to put 100% into everything but at the same time is some what socially awkward, for whatever reason. And the fact that the joke landed the first time and got a positive response the first time around. I imagine it was an easy go to for every further interaction the dragon had with him. And I guess either due to a lack of social decorum due to his own anxieties or perhaps and this may be going too far for analysing a character. But perhaps he might have even had Aspergers or something, preventing from kinda getting the finer point that repetition of a social interaction does not always lend itself to endearment. So I guess for every time the dragon did respond to him, that was a positive interaction on his part.
In regards to his level of upset. That seems like it would have always been in that puts 100% into everything. So no matter what it would have been hard watch or deal with and whether he’d be someone to take it to heart, is something I couldn’t say.
So in regards to the Dragon’s actions, I would say they are understandable. But they’re unkind. And I guess depending on the bunny’s psyche, he’ll come up with his own reason why the dragon left before saying goodbye, which is a kindness in a sense, even if it’s built on a lie.
The bunny will be fine, they’ll move on, as will the dragon but yeah... it’s just one of those things.
Honestly it’s something I’ve done myself and I guess find myself struggling with. And despite being able to rationalise why the other person may be difficult to deal with... sometimes it’s just easier to excuse yourself and sometimes it’s necessary. But the guilt for having done it in the first place Is certainly a horrible thing to deal with and can take a life time to get over.
Sorry for the small essay. I really
Loved this comic. The set up and story are so intriguing and as always the art is wonderful.

I haven't fully made up my mind why the bunny acts the way he does, and generally took the viewpoint of the dragon here; merely describing what he experiences and how he feels about it. Come to think of it, it's only the dragon's die of the story. It might not even necessarily be the case that this is how these events played out - it's only that these pages describe how the dragon perceived them. Who knows what the bunny would have said about them, or even a third party that watched both of them interact? However, the wolf did "help" in the end, didn't he? But... maybe he never saw much of it happening and only joined in because of what the dragon told him? Hmmm, now I'm really going down the rabbit hole... (Pun intended. ;) )
Annnd yes. I think this kind of situation is one that most are familiar with, no matter on which side of the receiving end they were. Awkward moments like these happen all the time, so what a diary be without one of those? ;)
I do kinda wonder what happens though if they would accidentally meet again, somewhere out there in the wild. One could assume that both of them live in the same city, after all...

Hhhhhh The better part of me would've just asked him about it and hope I didn't phrase it too bluntly, but in all honesty I can't say I would've done much better. I have an idea of what he might've been on about but perhaps it's a cynical thought and he was just trying to be jovial.
