The marking appeared because in Shady's origin story (which has yet to be written), the Incineroar that he nommed was somehow specially marked by Shady's father. While he did digest it, the spirit was trapped in his body, enhancing his powers and opening his mind to nomming more creatures. The marking is the only thing keeping the spirit in there. If it were to break, havoc would follow.
Nah. I haven't worked out how it was marked or exactly why digesting it would seal the spirit inside him. Though it'll be worked out once I finally decide (and have time) to figure it out... I just had two thoughts:
Me: "Hmm I changed the spirit inside of Shady from a Growlithe to an Incineroar..."
Also me: "I commissioned ZackFox101 for some noms... what should he n- AN INCINERAOR! GENIUS!"
Thus, this beautiful sequence was born (after some moneys ofc). :3

Understandable dude. Sometimes ideas and concepts are just like that. -w-
Me: Perhaps this is fate.
Me internally: This person has no idea what they're doing with this demon mark stuffs
Also me internally: Should probably not say it so rude....
Also also me internally: Is it a demon mark? Would be the first time seeing other than me.
Also also also me: Hm... I'm hungry...

The spirit gives him a 30% boost to all fire type attacks (this probably explains why his Flamethrower is blue instead of orange), 5% to all others, and since Darkest Lariat is Incineroar's signature move, Shady can learn it if he chooses. In vore, the spirit can assist in digestion by wrapping itself around the prey, if it desires. It may be a spirit, but it's still entirely sentient.
Oh definitely yes. The spirit, regardless of how long it's been since he was trapped, doesn't take kindly to being trapped. So it fights for control of Shady's body. It's hard for him to maintain control at first, but eventually gets to a point where it doesn't even try due to how pointless it is. When it's restless, you can see it kicking inside his belly, as if it's still physically in there, despite his belly being flat. He also feels this but there isn't much he can do about it. However, if Shady dies for any reason, not just fainting, the spirit dies with him, as it now entirely relies on Shady's life force to survive.
In most cases he would be able to. But since the spirit now resides inside him, this is one he cannot revive. As for other preys, he could swallow a reviver seed and think about the prey he wants to bring back. Slowly over the next while, usually about 30 minutes, depending on the prey, his belly grows as they're reformed inside him. Once he feels them start kicking, his belly will force it back out of his maw. The prey remembers everything that they knew up until the point that they fell unconscious previously in his stomach. Reforming them feels almost as good as digesting them, but takes way more energy to do. Eating them again provides no nutritional value.
