Thompson M2010 Advert
Few weapons are as imbued into the American condition as the Thompson submachine gun. From its birth during the era of prohibition, its integral role on the battlefield during World War II, and its immortalization on the silver screen the Thompson laid the ground work for all modern day SMGs and their brethren. It is as distinctly American as baseball and apple pie, and has had just as much cultural significance. With all this in mind I present to you the Thompson M2010.
Constructed of high grade stainless steel and carbon fiber the M2010 weighs almost half as much as its predecessors, and maintains compatibility with all previous Thompson magazines (which is a plus for collectors.) The most obvious difference is the incorporation of a universal rail mounting system making the M2010 compatible with all picatinny and weaver rail accessories, giving the user almost unlimited customization potential. Those already familiar with the Thompson will also notice the redesigned and relocated charging handle. The CH has been moved from the top of the weapon (or the right side in the case of WWII era Thompsons) to the rear above the stock providing an ambidextrous interface.
While the M2010 may be larger than most conventional SMGs the benefits of modern technology allow for greater range and stopping power then previous iterations of the weapon, while the folding stock increases portability.
It has been almost a century since the original Thompson's inception and the M2010 takes advantage of all of the advances in firearms technology conceived in that span of time.
The bottom line: The M2010 truly brings this undeniable symbol of Americana into the 21st century.

I'm well aware of all that. The "M" prefix was also applied to the different Thompson variations as well. The M1921, The M1928, The M1928A1, and the military version M1 and M1A1. So for my version I kept the "M" prefix ("M" Meaning Model) and added the year 2010 since that's the year it was designed, as was the custom for differentiating between the different iterations of the weapon.
