At age 26, White Night is the Captain of the Royal Intelligence, of the Starpony Kingdom (aka Stellequestria). He is a ruler in training, alongside his sister, Nightlight Sparkleheart. Neither of them was born of royal blood -- yet Princess Skysparkle has become their godmother.
At age 16, Nightlight Sparkleheart has been sent on a mission to learn the power of friendship. She shows a classic case of "Unicorn Syndrome": She loves math, science, and spell programming (no magic; this is sci-fi). Unfortunately, she has a hard time opening her heart to someone else. Moreover, she struggles with anger problems that are common to those on the autism spectrum.
Up to now, her big brother is one of few who have managed to capture her heart. Nightlight and White Night are both powerful unicorns. Nightlight is arguably more powerful, but she is less competent at controlling her powers.
Nightlight may have more intelligence for academics. But White Night has far more emotional intelligence.
As an intelligence agent, White Night gets torn between trying to be honest and trying to keep secrets. White Night seeks to reveal the truth. Yet he knows how to lie with a straight face.
White Night becomes shocked as he uncovers hidden corruption throughout the kingdom. There are corrupt officials in high places, and there is a shocking amount of local corruption. Three of the most corrupt cities are Equopolis (Equopolis Province), Las Yeguas (Neighvada Province), and Crystal City (Seaquopolis Province). Within Equopolis is a small city that is especially corrupt: Foalstown.
Princess Skysparkle is one of the most kindhearted rulers. She is an alicorn with great influence over the sun, moon, and weather. Unfortunately, her head has been in the clouds for far too long.
Skysparkle has relied on making friends to make her life easy. Unfortunately, her kingdom no longer has as much friendship as she thinks.
As Captain of the Royal Intelligence, White Night seeks to be the big brother for all his fellow creatures. He's been sending agents far and wide to collect valuable information.
Unfortunately, White Night starts to rely too much on his own schemes. Consequently, he surrounds himself too much with people who know how to trick him. He knows how to deceive, but he becomes too attracted to people who know how to deceive him.
Meanwhile, Nightlight, his little sister, starts to appreciate that life is about friendship. In the process, she learns not just the joy of friendship -- but also the intelligence of friendship.
The way White Night starts to spy on people ends up deterring many from opening up to him. It encourages a silent resistance. Nightlight starts to learn -- better than her brother -- how to build the relationships that restore a sense of community.

Born with a silver spoon, Nightlight is assigned to live as a regular citizen. Princess Skysparkle considers this exercise a crucial part of becoming a Princess of friendship.
Skysparkle herself comes from a very humble background. She was born, over 1000 years ago, back when when unicorns were some of the most despised and persecuted creatures. Her family had to hide underground.
Skysparkle appreciates that our Creator once lived on Earth, as a fellow human being. As part of redeeming us, he walked in our shoes. He suffered one of the most grotesque and humiliating punishments -- but then brought himself back to life. Skysparkle feels her rise to greatness was given as an example of how rulers should serve their people.
White Night was born back when his family was struggling to buy a decent house. As a toddler, he was a charming little boy. He charmed his way into being taken up as a student of Skysparkle's. He has been on the field as both a soldier and a spy.
White Night is about to marry Princess Honeymoon, who is 33 years old. She is like a big sister to him. White Night has always looked up to great mother figures. In return, he longs for them to look up to him, as a father figure.
Honeymoon is one of the four rulers of the Starpony Kingdom. She is Skysparkle's adoptive daughter. Honeymoon sees her husband-to-be as a big little brother. She is amazed at the way he's grown into a leader.
Secretly, Honeymoon feels insecure as a ruler. Conversely, White Night feels he's stuck in Honeymoon's shadow. As Nightlight grows into a Princess of friendship, he starts to feel in her shadow, too. To his shock, she wins her own crown as a ruler -- while he remains a prince consort.
brother starts to feel he’s in the shadow of his little sister. In this case, both of them are overpowered unicorns, and both of them have become royals. It’s just that the sister has become a ruler — while he remains a prince consort.
In his desire to feel properly appreciated, White Night takes advantage of the rulers’ feelings of insecurity. This way, he can feel like the power behind the thrones. Unfortunately for him, this does not help him find a lasting sense of peace.
To earn his own crown as a ruler, White Night must overcome his own feelings of jealousy and insecurity. He must learn to appreciate how much his little sister has grown. He must learn to look up to her as a big little sister.

Visual Description:
White Night is a white unicorn with a build that balances the cute and delicate with the big and strong. He has wavy hair that straddles the line between wild-looking and well-combed. His hair and mane descend just past the neck.
White Night has bright blue eyes and sapphire-colored hooves. His hair is bright cyan-blue with a lightish golden stripe and a darker bluish stripe. He is nearly a head taller than his little sister (Nightlight).
The mark on White Night's flank is the following:
His mark is a multicolor shield with a tall eight-point star. Three hearts hover above the shield. The eight-point star is made of two perpendicular crosses -- a tall one and a square one. The shape of the shield resembles the American Interstate shield (vaguely resembling a cursive lowercase "v" with a curvy three-point crown).
The shield has three colors -- in stripes that slant down from right to left (paralleling the upper right and lower left points of the star). From top to bottom, the colors are bright bluish cyan, yellowish cream, and brightish lightish golden orange. The tall eight-point star is a reddish hot pink. The three hearts are a deep bright purple.

You always develop tellings of your characters in which serve as stories themselves. Many of these posts allow the mind to fill in little stories and events.
Have you ever considered writing Star Ponies, in a rough draft, in the style you presented this post? It truly does put a lot into perspective with fewer words. Plus you can tell you have a close connection with your characters, setting, and culture.
White Knight definitely has a lot of depth and also has character flaws in which a lot of people can relate with. It's easy to see how he became what he became along with how it will be his ultimate plot advancement when he learns to trust while not being trapped in the mindset he is now of feeling 'lower' than those around him.
It shall be interesting to see what directions you go with all the characters. especially since we get some great insights on others when reading about a singular character. :)

Right now, I have only a partial picture of the overall arc. I know some bases I want to hit, but I still must figure out how it will work. I may have to make a lot of the details up as I go along. When this process is properly curated, it may look as if I planned it all along.
In addition, I’m still figuring out which aspects of my work are the most marketable as a niche work.
Finally, I don’t want to introduce too many spoilers on FA. I’m already releasing more spoilers than I otherwise would, because I’m trying to attract a support base to help build the project.
By the way, I edited the visual description to say this: “The tall eight-point star is a reddish hot pink.” I didn’t quite accurately describe the color at first. The same applies to Nightlight’s star.

Actually, if I may suggest, I think your 'niche market' will be to individuals who are on the spectrum along with those who lack an understanding of it and want to get a more honest look at what it is like to be on the spectrum.
So, if this helps, the 'Unicorn Syndrome' can be a great way to bring in an audience. Market it as a work of advocacy based on how MLP: FiM had been largely recognized as a way for those on the Spectrum to interact with others in ways never before seen. Your work would be able to illustrate how life is like for varying degrees of 'Unicorn Syndrome' while providing a lot of great stories within the large story.
You may also utilize your 'Creator Of Friendship' as a draw. Rather than looking up most to royalty, the citizens look to 'The Creator' for guidance. The royals embracing 'The Creator' and ensuring they use lines like, "May you be blessed by The Creator", or "Friendship is always with.".
The above may be able to get people interested in participating in church, or in the least, welcoming God into their hearts as, from what I can tell, you are being fairly subtle with religion and such subtly may be able to show how 'The Creator' works in different ways. :)

From the beginning, I figured my key market would be those coping with limitations — especially Asperger’s Syndrome.
With two of Nightlight’s friends, another theme is coping with the trauma suffered from abusive parents. Sparklefire came from rich parents who abused her, and Dragonshy came from poor parents who abused her.
Rainbow Heartboom is Sparklefire and Dragonshy’s best friend. Heartboom herself has her own special limitations, despite being an overpowered flier.
Heartboom secretly copes with dyslexia. Once while babysitting, she feels humiliated when she tries to read a bedtime story — but the little child ends up doing it for her. At first, she acts as if it’s uncool to read books other than comic books. But this is mainly a rationalization to cover up for feeling handicapped.
Heartboom also may get airsickness when doing what she does best. She gets the nickname “Rainbowbarf” as a result. This problem will turn out to arise from food sensitivities she never wished to acknowledge. Once she appreciates that some of the greatest athletes have strict diets, she follows suit. She thinks of how cool she will look being one of the greatest fliers.
Overall, Heartboom’s parents have been teaching her that it’s cool to make friends who care about us — that it’s cool to take care of ourselves and one another.
Dragonshy is a pegasus with weak wings, but she can still flutter around. She later realizes that her legs have become fairly strong. However, her main strength is the power of her eyes and voice. She has special power to trigger a fear response, and she has special power to trigger feelings of calmness.
