Possibly the most temperamental thief in Team, Makoto Niijima, known by her allies as Queen, is responsible for the analysis of a heist, and more prominently, the getaway driver.

While not the leading role of the Phantom Thieves, Makoto has always been pushed by her peers to be the top rank. The big woman on throne. The head honcho of expectations. Essentially, everyone sees her as a student president because of her great academics and authoritative demeanor. Makoto might be a very adamant person, but she doesn’t want to be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of expectations from everyone voting for her. She despises politics, and her big sister being part of law enforcement doesn’t help. To her, while being a demonic dimension, she kind of considers the Metaverse to be her utopia (keyword being KIND OF), since she allows herself t run fast and free without anyone letting her down. As Queen, she woes full-throttle towards her enemies.

Johanna, sometimes known as Pope Joan, acts as Queen’s Persona. In her time, Johanna was a young woman why wanted to make a difference in the Catholic Church by disguising herself as the next pope. Popes in the church have always been male, so a woman stepping up to the clergy was questionable for the officials. Throughout her time, she’s been referred as Pope John, or Johan, and nobody saw her true self, that is until she passed away from /*REDACTED*/. That isn’t to say that her legacy now lives with Makoto, who has been granted super speed to get s clear grip on keeping enemy Shadows on their toes.
