Clear As Night - Chapter 9, draft 1
“This is not my body.” I whispered back into the darkness, and soon enough, I could feel the cold hooks of the other realm luring me into a deep sleep, whisking me away into another reality. I was more aware of what happened to my body now. It wasn’t somewhere else. My body was still in my bedroom. Yet it was in two places at once. My sleeping body was there, but me, my soul, was elsewhere. I could hurt here as much as I could hurt in my own world. I could hurt others as much as I could in my own world. I could feel the soft breeze of air from the other realm, but I could also feel the falling and rising of my chest as I slept in my own bedroom. I was two and I was one. It was as though my most deepest, inner self, was awoken and placed inside another universe. As if it had always know how to. As if it was meant to be this way. I was not just a creature made of flesh. I was not bound by earth. I was a creature made up of the very matter of the universe. I was an ice-demon as a shell, with a deeper core than anyone will ever know. Layers and layers of ice, melting away a the inner core, where my heart lies. This is not just about my being. It was a vessel, used to reach higher powers. This is not my body.
